Poly Walk - (LOW POLY UPDATE 5.)

I’d hit a wall with 3D stuff after I discovered that weight painting is the bane of my existence. I decided to ignore the weight painting and just get on with some animation. 

There are still some bits I’d like to iron out but I’m happy with it as a starting point.

Next step is to get a few animations together, make a basic map and then learn unity…

"New" 3DS
I really like the design of the “new” 3DS. I think it’s the buttons on the standard version. I’m hoping for an insane battery life…like 10 hours. It would also be nice to transfer over my ambassador games to the new one too, thanks Nintendo.

Insane Fast Backflip Girl
I did a quick animation of a girl endlessly doing really fast backflips.
24fps is a lot of work.
I am going to keep posting bits of animation so hopefully as I get better I’ll be able to see how bad I used to be :)

Early Animation Test.

It’s been a while since I did any animation so today I have been working on something.

I wanted to just get stuck in and see how well I could animate a girl opening up a stall with very little animation experience. I think my main issue is I try to make each frame too detailed and then slowly descend into making each frame less detailed. 

I need to focus on doing rough animation to capture the movement and then cleaning up afterwards… also everything happens so quick, pacing is hard. 

Animation is hard. I have so much to learn.

Just a couple of shots to show she is rigged. I have not mastered weight painting yet :(

Finally finished texturing. I did a couple of different renders, the first 2 are shadeless and the rest are cell shaded. All of them done with blender render because cycles scares me.

I have already rigged this character but I still need to work on the weight painting. Next update will be some animation hopefully.

Not really a full update, I just haven’t had much time to work on this over the last week and wanted to keep my blog up-to-date. I finally got back to working on the texture, I’m thinking she is some sort of brawler. Also she will have more clothes by the end of it.

Haven’t worked on any 3D stuff for a few months but I’ve been doing some texturing tutorials and trying to get back into things. I had hit a wall with texturing and couldn’t figure out how to get things to look the way I wanted but tonight I figured it out… its shadeless.
Still not sure what I’m going to do with modelling. Really want to make a game but I want to figure out Blender before I tackle Unity. Perhaps I’ll do some 3D animation next.
