Description for Leave Luck to Heaven - Nintendo Triptych.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time and I’m glad I finally got around to it. Originally Samus was the only Nintendo character I wanted to draw, with the caption “leave luck to heaven” (allegedly the literal translation of the word Nintendo). This sketch lay in one of my sketchbooks for years until a few weeks ago when I decided to draw her. I wanted to imply with the title that the she didn’t need to be rescued or saved and that she made their own luck. After I Finished the sketch I thought about captions for other Nintendo characters and the same title always seemed appropriate. I decided to draw Princess Zelda and Princess Peach and make a female triptych. Peach and Zelda are often labelled as “damsels in distress” save for a couple of games, and I liked the idea of depicting them as having just as much ability as Samus Aran. all 3 of these images show the characters just after a battle.
The backgrounds are public domain images I edited,
Peach’s background can be found here http://fahrmboy-stock.deviantart.com/art/big-blue-sky-stock-93152384
Its taken me hours to colour these, honestly like 24hrs+. They mark what I hope to be the last in a way of working that I’ve been using for a while, I want to adopt a quicker more efficient style. I will no doubt be working like this again but I’d like to at least try to make images starting straight from digital.
Also I have a few more projects on the go at the minute so the gap between posts should be less substantial for a while.Tweet
