The Scientist.
I said I’d draw this friend about 2 years ago and as I’m getting back into portraiture I thought I’d finally get it done. Obviously this isn’t actually a cover for “New Scientist” I just thought It would be fitting as he’s into science.

This is just the skin colour layer, the final will look drastically different with an outline. I would love to get into digital painting, I think I like outlines too much though.
An Esteemed Professor
I’ve decided to start doing some more portrait style Illustration. Since I finished Uni I’ve been doing a lot of very stylised stuff. I’ve got a few ideas for projects lined up that work well in this style, I also think this sort of illustration lends itself well to editorial work, so expect more.
I’m debating whether or not I should split my website in half and have a separate re-brand for portrait style (like above) and more stylised stuff, that’s what the experts say anyway. I’ve already got 2 domain names.
2013 is the year I begin properly working on the comic (a personal project) I’ve been talking about for ages. Here is a quick sketch of the main character as well as a quick alternative colour scheme (I was messing about with layers and liked this one). It’s all still work in progress in terms of the style but its not far off how the final will look. In the future it will be published weekly as a web comic. lastly, the title isn’t final but It’s been “Letters From Lethia” for 8 months or so, apart from the last bit “the boy in the clouds” which I decided on as I coloured this, the titles may change but probably not.

Wedding Invites
I’ve been busy the past few days doing some wedding invites for a friend. This is the final illustration for the invites. I’ve got some roughs and alternatives that I’ll probably post over the next few days, mostly involving Pikachu and Hello Kitty. Obviously I didn’t charge as neither me or the friend owns the rights to these characters, it was however a fun personal project.

I’m sticking with this theme now, video game characters running. I can’t think of a better way to get used to a new piece of software (Paint Tool Sai).
If anybody out there has a favourite game character they feel is under appreciated send me a message about it on tumblr or twitter @markmooredraw and I’ll do my best to draw them running or otherwise.
