Today I found some sellotape that I thought looked like a dog, so I stuck it to some paper and drew in the missing bits.

Here is a comic.
…and here is a story…
Today I bought two picture books, Gorilla by Anthony Brown and The Runaway Dinner by Allan Ahlberg and Bruce Ingman. I’ve been thinking about picture books alot recently and how I’d like to start collecting a few, like most people around my age (24) I grew up with the likes of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. Whilst reading these two books that I’d purchased, I had the realisation that there was no good reason for me not to Illustrate my own picture book, so I started drawing. I made up a story about a dog who follows his owner to school and wont go back home so he ends up going to school with the boy, very original I thought, then I googled it. I counted 5 different picture books about a dog following its owner to school before I got disheartened. The comic above is a part of the super rough version of the story I was formulating, I am still very much into the idea of making a picture book and will continue developing a few other stories I’ve been working on and hopefully send them to a publisher. That’s the plan anyway, that’s enough experience for me to add “childrens Illustrator” to my CV, I’ve also added “make a picture book” to the list of things i’m working on.
Hello, My name is Mark and I'm an Illustrator from the UK. I work at a company that produces short animated videos for apps and websites. This is my blog of personal work, everything I post here was made by my own two hands and my computer (I post to an inspiration blog with a friend if you're looking for reblogs).
